About NutriLabels
Nutrition analysis software, built by someone who used to do it by hand
NutriLabels was founded in 2026 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by David, who spent years making Nutrition Facts labels for clients using Nutritionist Pro. After enough late nights waiting on legacy desktop software, he rebuilt the whole workflow from scratch as a fast, calculation-first web tool.
Why we built it
Every food business eventually needs an FDA-compliant Nutrition Facts label, and the two existing options were both frustrating: expensive lab testing, or software that makes you type in every number yourself after you have already done the nutrition math elsewhere. NutriLabels calculates the numbers from your recipe instead of asking you to already know them.
How the math works
Nutrient values are computed from USDA FoodData Central plus any supplier data you enter for your specific ingredients. Rounding, %DV and label-format rules follow 21 CFR 101.9 (the FDA’s 2016 nutrition-labeling rule); allergen statements follow FALCPA and the FASTER Act; serving sizes follow the Reference Amounts (RACC) in 21 CFR 101.12. See it in action on How It Works.
What we are not
- We are not a laboratory. We calculate from ingredient databases and supplier data, which is how most labels are made; FDA checks a finished product against its label, and some products (like deep-fried foods) are better served by lab analysis.
- We do not provide legal advice. Final responsibility for label accuracy and FDA compliance rests with you as the manufacturer.
- Our expert services (Label Review and the done-for-you label) include a compliance review by NutriLabels staff before delivery, for anyone who wants a second set of eyes.
