How it works

Two ways to a compliant label

Stores, markets and distributors want a correct label before they commit to your product. Build it yourself in minutes, or hand your recipe to an expert. Either way, you end up with print-ready files for your package.

Done-for-you

Send it to our experts

From $249 a product. A labeling expert does the work.

1

Send us your recipe

Send your recipe and spec sheets through our secure form. Our standing NDA covers them from the moment you submit.

2

We build it

An expert prepares your serving size, panel, ingredient statement and allergen declaration.

3

Review and print

Your files arrive within 5 business days, with two revisions within 30 days, sized for your package and backed by our satisfaction guarantee.

Built it yourself and want a second opinion? A $69 Label Review has an expert check your finished label before you print.

Included on both paths

Everything your label needs

Build it yourself or hand it to us. Either way, you get the same four things.

Your panel, in the right format

The format your product needs is picked for you, such as a dual-column panel when your package holds two to three servings. Every other FDA format your product qualifies for is there too, typeset to 21 CFR 101.9.

Ingredients and allergens

Your ingredients in order by weight, sub-ingredients in brackets, and your “Contains” line for the nine major allergens.

Files your printer wants

PDF and SVG for packaging and print shops, PNG for your website and listings. Downloads never expire.

The right serving size

The FDA sets a standard serving for every kind of food. We find yours, write it the way your label needs it, and cover the special serving rules, such as single-serving containers, packages that hold two to three servings (which need a dual-column panel) and foods sold in pieces, like cookies or bars.

Database analysis, not lab testing. Like every major labeling service, we calculate your nutrition from ingredient data (USDA FoodData Central and supplier specs). That is how nearly all small-brand labels are built, and the FDA checks a finished product against what its label declares, so accurate ingredient data matters more than the method. Lab analysis is worth it for deep-fried items or unusual processes. If you’re not sure, just ask us.

Always current

Regulations change. Your labels keep up.

Your label is built on the current FDA rules (21 CFR 101.9, the 2016 final rules) and re-checked against them each time you open or edit it. We watch the eCFR and the Federal Register for rule changes, and when the rules change, the engine changes with them, so your downloads follow the current spec.
